Chief Program Director & Instructor
Mrs. Rachel Owens
Mrs. Rachel brings deep experience in education, homeschooling two children from kindergarten to fifth grade, and working with neurodivergent and gifted learners. She understands that learning takes different forms—movement, listening, watching, or a mix of all three.
Her passion for ASL grew from five years immersed in the deaf community, learning the language from close friends who became family. This led her to train special needs educators in ASL, ensuring they could better support their classrooms. Certified as a language instructor, she applies similar techniques when teaching math and reading, making learning accessible and engaging.
With a lifelong love for education, her journey has taken her through hospitals, clinics, elderly homes, and daycares, always serving others. For over 27 years, she has volunteered tirelessly, focusing on positivity, goodness, and encouragement through free Bible education.
As the driving force behind T.E.A.Ms, she is committed to providing Time, Encouragement, Attention, and Motivation, ensuring each individual has the support they need to grow. She also founded The Reading Block just before COVID-19, creating a fun, interactive online space where kids could continue learning together.

Ms. Bethany Poulline

For over a decade, Bethany has volunteered in the deaf community, providing support in countless ways. Her kindness, patience, and generosity have made her a beloved figure among both deaf and hearing individuals. She fosters understanding, breaks barriers, and encourages connection through language.
At T.E.A.Ms, she brings this same warmth and expertise to the ASL program, guiding youth—deaf and hearing alike—to communicate with confidence. With positivity at her core, she is more than an instructor—she is a mentor, an advocate, and a bridge between communities.
